Advanced BG Fiddle -Waitlist
In Advanced Bluegrass Fiddle, we will explore a few of the key components to playing fiddle in a band. We will learn techniques for soloing on bluegrass fiddle tunes and songs, accompaniment approaches for backing up a vocalist or instrumentalists, and dive deeper into groove and feel through bowing and note choice. I like to teach these concepts along with a new tune or two, so be prepared to expand your repertoire as well!

Trent Freeman is an innovative musician whose unique blend of groove, in-depth harmony, captivating melodies and personal writing style set him apart from many others. He has won national awards with The Fretless, Speaker Face (experimental electronic duo), and with his solo record Rock Paper Scissors. Rooted in tradition, but with a modern ear for experimentation and exploration, Trent’s music stretches the boundaries of genre and shatters expectation.
Over the past few years, Trent has become a sought-after side man, touring across North America and Europe with artists such as The Wailin Jennys, John Reischman, Jenny Ritter, The Duhks, and countless others. As a session musician, he has added his violin and musical touch to records ranging in genre from bluegrass to hip-hop and classical to jazz. Some recording highlights include Andrew Collins, Helen Austin, Wyclef Jean, and John Reischman.
