Advanced Banjo

This course focuses on building strong, reliable bluegrass banjo fundamentals while expanding musical vocabulary and confidence. Students will work on right-hand efficiency, backup techniques, and solo construction drawn from traditional bluegrass styles. The class emphasizes groove, tone, and ensemble playing in a supportive camp environment. Ideal for banjo players looking to sharpen their skills and become more effective jam and band musicians.

Tabitha Benedict

Tabitha Benedict is a banjoist from County Armagh, Northern Ireland, whose playing blends deep bluegrass drive with transatlantic roots influences. She began playing banjo at age 12 and was nominated for IBMA Momentum Instrumentalist of the Year in 2018. Tabitha has studied at the Savannah Acoustic Music Seminar with artists including Julian Lage, Mike Marshall, Bryan Sutton, and Darrell Scott. She has performed internationally with her family band Cup O’Joe and the all-female Anglo-Irish bluegrass band Midnight Skyracer, both of which have received significant recognition across the UK, Europe, and beyond for their dynamic performances and musicianship.
