East Kootenay based Michael Hepher and his Clawhammer Letterpress crew are bringing their old-school letterpress technology to NimbleFingers! They've got super cool posters and cards and musical paraphernalia for the Festy.
These good folks have been great supporters of us over the years, and we're excited to say this year we've secured a beer garden licence for Festival Day!
"Each batch is made by hand in our ten-hectolitre brewhouse. We use all natural ingredients, eschewing the use of rice, corn or sugars. The basis of every ale is organic malt, hops and water, with special ingredients like fruit or potatoes being added to create our unique and delicious specialty ales. We brew with passion and care — and you can taste that in every glass."
Panzudo Flatbreadswill again be bringing their delicious fare to the Festy. We're hungry already!
Sorrento Centre Farm
The Sorrento Centre Farm is located just 2 km west of the Sorrento Centre. The Farm's mission is to create a just relationship between people and Earth by growing, sharing and learning about food, and by sharing the abundance with those most in need. Pretty awesome plan, we think!
The farm crew will be overflowing during the festy with tomatoes, zucchini, onions, garlic braids (we just finished off ours from last year, and are wondering how we are going to cope till August!), cucumbers, eggplants, peppers, carrots, cherry tomatoes and much more. Don't forget your market basket!
SUE MALCOLM has been a mainstay of the Vancouver folk and bluegrass scene since 1980 as a performer, instructor and organizer, and was a founder of The Pacific Bluegrass and Heritage Society.
Sue has taught guitar, jamming and singing at the BC Bluegrass Workshop (now called NimbleFingers), Georgia Strait Guitar Workshop, Vancouver Island Music Workshop, as well as ongoing classes at the Trout Lake Community Centre in Vancouver.
All six of volumes of the Slow Pitch Jam songbook/cd sets will be available at the merch table at the NimbleFingers Bluegrass Festival. Stop by and say hi!
Luthier John McQuarrie from nearby Northwood Guitars builds beautiful guitars at his full service facility just 4 km from our Festival site in Sorrento, just like he has since the mid 1980's. John is also our onsite luthier during the workshops.
